Arnold Schwarzenegger's Shoulder Problems - How To Avoid Making The Same Mistakes?

In this post we tell you why Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered from important shoulder problems and how to avoid making the same training mistakes.
In the opinion of many bodybuilding fans, the greatest physique in the history of bodybuilding sport belonged to a single figure, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A little history
Although he does not have the size or physical conditioning of today's competitors, he was dominant in his time, and left the biggest mark that anyone in the history of the sport could achieve, he also possessed a physique that in his best time most people would agree that he was the most admired and desirable to achieve, even today.
While he was incredible in his youth, the years passed, and Arnold's shoulders deteriorated, resulting in a series of shoulder problems for him, many years later. During the filming of The Mercenaries 2 in 2012, Schwarzenegger and actor Sylvester Stallone succumbed to the injury with shoulder surgeries.

The Terminator finally broke
There are three main reasons why Arnold's shoulders gave way after all these years. Let's check it out:

First of all, during his years of intense heavy training, Arnold uses some exercises that today's most personal trainers, chiropractors, and athletes avoid at all costs.
The presses shoulders behind the neck, chin-ups and chin inverted, or oars neck were three heavy exercises that laid the foundation for the terrific development Arnold, but also place their joints shoulder under tremendous pressure and natural, dangerous imbalance.
The symmetry of the body
Luckily, we have four decades of training knowledge that we have today that Arnold Schwarzenegger  did not have. Lack of symmetry is another issue that Arnold dealt with in his day, and may have led to physical imbalances for decades that he eventually encountered him.
As you probably remember, Schwarzenegger had one of the biggest arms ever seen on a bodybuilding stage. His pecs were incredible and perhaps the broadest and most balanced chest ever seen in physical sport. His shoulders and shape were very good, but not as exceptional as his chest or arms. As a result of less attention in the gym and fewer sessions, his shoulders did not grow at the same rate.

They were different times
But they were better than most bodybuilders seen on the bodybuilding stage in their time, and he won a lot of titles. However, compared to the rest of his body, his deltoids, or shoulder muscles , were actually considered to be lousy. Finally, as we all know, the human body is not a machine. It is a larger evolving organism that responds well to training, but also breaks down at unpredictable rates.
Ethics in daily work
Arnold Schwarzenegger commonly trained six days a week, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. He dedicated dozens of sets for his shoulder training and often twice every week! His work ethic was legendary, and he often trained three times as much as the best athletes do today. However, his joints, tendons, and muscles had worn down for years due to his own training style . Later in life, surgery was the only answer to the damage that had been done to his shoulders.

Exercises and choice
Arnold Schwarzenegger had one of the greatest physicists the world has ever seen. However, due to his choice of exercises, physical asymmetry, and traininag volume , he managed to experience a little more wear and tear on his shoulder region than he would have preferred. Thus if we study and value the mental focus, work ethic, and attitude of champion Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is also beneficial to study the flaws in Arnold's approach.
Learn from your mistakes, and you can say "Goodbye" to shoulder damage in your life!
